About Halina
The Brand
Halina, from the word, "kahali-halina" meaning 'marikit', 'maganda', alluring, and fascinating. Hoping that while wearing Halina, our customers can also build their confidence and realize their true, natural beauty
Established on February 2019, Halina Jewelry is a handcrafted jewelry business, with most materials sourced locally here in the Philippines. Each piece is made by hand, designed and constructed to give the fun, flirty and classic look of the earrings.
For the past year, Halina joined 17 bazaars in Metro Manila. We shared the craft to the crowds of BGC Art Mart, BGC High Street, Edsa Shangri-La, The Filinvest Tent, Trendsetter's Bazaar, PNB, PAL, Unilab offices among others.
Last January 2020, Halina was also invited as a resource speaker for the Jewelry Handicrafts Grade 9 and 10 class at the Assumption College.
As we continue to create stunning pieces for every Filipina, our goal is to inspire other entrepreneurs and hold jewelry workshops in the near future. Halina is currently a one-woman business, with lots of help and support from family and friends. 💖
The Crafter
Halina was born out of passion and risk. Giselle or 'Gigi' the owner of Halina, quit her job in the digital marketing agency last February 2019.
Being a Communication Arts graduate, she enjoyed working in marketing and advertising companies but always gets excited at the thought of being an entrepreneur. She has always liked making things and hoped that she could share it to others.
The plan was to build another business after resignation. Gigi already owns @halinaflowers, a handmade brand of felt cloth flowers, built in 2016. Unfortunately, the flower business had very limited customers so she shifted her creativity to making handmade accessories.
Before leaving her full-time job as an Account Manager, she started saving for this business. Halina was the biggest risk and luckily, the most successful too!
Gigi has been crafting for 10 years now and a proudly self-thought artist. You can easily spot her smiling and friendly face at bazaars. 😄 She likes to write and read during her free time, and experimenting on more earrings.
Fundraisers
More than selling, Halina's drive comes from helping, by using creativity and time to hold fundraisers.
For 2020, Halina donated almost P43,000 to different relief organizations!
When the Taal Volcano erupted last January 2020, we created the 'Taal' design. 100% of the proceeds went to buying relief packs. After a week, 60 Taal pairs were sold, amounting to P15,000 in donation!
A Coivd19 Fundraiser soon followed last April - May 2020. And for November, Halina launched the Magayon pairs where 100% of the proceeds went to Typhoon Rolly relief operations.
The last fundraiser for this year, is the 20% donation of total sales from November 15-30 for the Typhoon Ulysses.
